A Familiar Scenario
You’re running behind schedule and you have twenty minutes to get to an important client meeting on the opposite side of town. You think to yourself, “It’s too far to walk. The subway will take too long. I better request an uberX.” So you open the app, set your pick-up location, and push the button. Unfortunately, the estimated “2-minute” wait-time turns into 4 minutes…then 5 minutes…then 6 minutes…
Am I in the Driver’s Seat?
Unfortunately, the “lost-driver” experience is a common one. Hundreds of "rideshare" riders across the United States report these scenarios on a daily basis. And we’re not surprised.
Should’ve Taken a Taxi
Meanwhile, taxi drivers undergo strict certification and training processes and are sometimes required to pass exams – verifying that they know how to get from any “Point A” to any “Point B” in a timely, traffic-conscious manner (without blindly following a GPS). Due to their experience and training, Taxi drivers are proficient in city driving and experts on their city’s geographic layout.
Lost But Not Forgotten
@Uber_DC a little disconcerting when your driver asks you the best way to get to the airport. Not sure he knows where he's going. :(

If @Uber_SF had fixed pricing, it wouldn't matter that the drivers often get lost. As it stands, though, we pay for their wasted time.
